A question has been raised regarding the security of videos stored in Microsoft Stream. Here is our response to that question.
There are really two ways to get a video recording loaded into Microsoft Stream. If you record a meeting in Teams the recording will be stored in Microsoft Stream. The other way is if you have a recording from another source you can upload it to Microsoft Stream from the web application.
But even in Teams there are (at least) three different kinds of meetings you record. You can record a meeting in a public team, in a private team or in no team at all using the "Meet Now" capability.
The default Microsoft Stream security is different for each of the above scenarios. The following table describes the default behavior for each.
Of course after the recording resides on Microsoft Stream the owner has the ability to change the default access by clicking on the edit pencil and granting/removing access.
This information has already been shared in a number of teams within Teams, but please share this with those in your command so that they do not inadvertently share information on a wider basis than intended.
