NOTES - Change your own SameTime (Internet) Password

Change your own SameTime Password:
Section A
Before you attempt to change your SameTime Password please be aware of the following:
1. Your SameTime password is officially called your "Internet Password"
2. Your Internet Password is used for several applications - some of which are set to "Single-Sign-On" - or to Automatically Sign you on.
While the Single-Sign-On (SSO) feature is wonderful and convenient - it is more than likely the reason why you cannot remember your SameTime password now - and you are now in need of that password.
3. Some of the applications that use this password include:
SameTime Instant Messaging
SameTime Meeting Rooms
THQ Fitness Center
Red Shield Tool Kit
IBM Connections
HelpDeskPro Ticket System
Lotus Notes Traveler
If you change or reset your SameTime Password - you will likely need to change the way you log into the aforementioned systems as well.
For example - if your SameTime Instant Messaging System is set for a Single-Sign-On - you will have to go through Section B below in order to stop Lotus Notes from attempting to sign on to SameTime with your old password.
4. Nobody knows what your password is but you! Not even your IT staff can decipher what your password is. So if you cannot remember it - you will need to "reset" it. You have the ability to reset your own SameTime password without requiring anyone else to get involved.
5. RESET your SameTime Password
A. Open Lotus Notes
B. File / Open / Lotus Notes Application
C. Choose your Primary Server (ie. for THQ the primary Server is called USCTHQDOM003)
D. Find the Blue File Titled "Central Territory Address Book" - Open it - If this is your first time visiting the Notes Address Book (NAB) there
will be an introduction page
that you will need to close.
E. Locate your Name
F. Open your "profile" by double-clicking on your name
G. On the left Hand Column you will see "Internet Password" - Double Click there and an "Enter" button will appear
H. Click on the Enter Button
I. Type in your desired SameTime Password (We recommend using the same password you use for Lotus Notes)
J. Click on OK
K. Click on "Save and Close" at the top left hand side of the screen.
6. You have just reset your SameTime Password. Keep in mind that until you have updated all of the programs that you use with this password -
they will no longer work correctly.
7. Be Patient - it can take up to 4 hours for your new password to replicate to all of the necessary servers that house the programs you utilize.
8. How do I know when the change has taken place?
The easiest way to tell is to go through the steps in Section B

How to change your Lotus Notes SameTime Instant Messaging System's log-on credentials:
1. Open Lotus Notes
2. File / Preferences / SameTime / Server Communities
3. Click on the "Reset User" button
4. Your user name can be one of two things - your Army e-mail address or FirstName.LastName (However your Army e-mail is preferred)
5. Enter your SameTime Password - but do not click Enter until you check the "Remember Me" and "Automatically Sign on" Radio Buttons.
6. If your SameTime Instant Messaging System now says "Available" - you have succeeded.
7. If your SameTime Instant Messaging System Does NOT say "Available" - You may need to wait 1 full business day and try again.
If it still doesn't work - I recommend getting your IT staff involved. Be sure you are able to tell them what steps you have taken.
Section C
How to change your SameTime password on your iOS mobile device:
DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE CHANGED YOUR SAMETIME PASSWORD IN THE CENTRAL TERRITORY ADDRESS BOOK (Section A).
1. Settings
2. Accounts & Passwords
3. Under Accounts - select your Army E-mail Address
4. Again, select your Army E-mail Address
5. In the Password field, enter your new SameTime Password.
6. Click Done.
