Citrix - Where is my C Drive?  How do I attach and Save ?

When you are logged into Citrix, you are only using the computer in front of you as an interface for your mouse and keyboard to control a different computer that resides in another city.

That means that files that are stored on the computer in front of you are not necessarily in the same place.
There is a way to get to them, but they are not as easily accessed as the "normally" are.

Save a file that I access in Citrix to my local C Drive so that it resides on MY computer:

1. Open the file you want to save to your local computer

2. Save As

3. In the File Name - be certain that you navigate to the "Local Disk C: Drive" with the computer name ex: USCTHQNW320A2

4. Then after C look for Users - Choose your name - then Documents

ie:  C://users/john.tate/documents

THAT file path is the My Documents folder you are used to using.

If you are looking to save files to your O: P: or Q Drive - they should all be in the list where you found Local Disk C$
If you save files there through Citrix they will be in the appropriate O: P: and Q Drives when you are back on campus where those drives are normally available.

How do I browse my O: P: and Q: drives in Cirtix?

The most common way to is open Windows Explorer IN Citrix.
Do not confuse Windows Explorer in Citrix with the Windows Explorer that is already on your computer.

1. Open Citrix

2. Launch the App called Windows Explorer - it looks like a Manila Folder

3. You will see your Shared Drives on the left side (including Local Disk C$, O:, P:, and Q:)

If you open those folders you will see, access and be able to save to those drives.
