Sophos - How to install Sophos on a Mac

 

 

1) On the Mac go to the Apple Menu - Go - Connect to Server

 

2) Type smb://uscthqfs005/apps$

 

3)  Go the THQ Use Only Folder

 

4)  Next select Sophos Cloud Folder - MAC - SophosInstall Folder- Choose Sophos Installer 

 

5)  Enter Admin Credentials to install Sophos on the Mac and press the Install Helper button

 

6)  It will take several minutes to install Sophos on the Mac

 

7)  Once Sophos is installed go to the Sophos icon in the Apple Menu and click on the Sophos icon then click on the button Open Sophos Endpoint...

 

8)  Then click on the word About (Bottom right corner of the Sophos Endpoint box)

 

9) Click on the button Run Diagnostic Tool above the word Troubleshooting

 

10) Go to the Prerequisites section and click on the Button Allow Full Disk Access.

 

 

11) Go to Security and Privacy in System Preferences then go to the Privacy tab

 

12) Click on the lock symbol and enter admin credentials.  Then go to the  section that says Full Disk Access

 

13) Click and hold the Sophos Shield icon and drag into in the section to allow access to the Full Disk section.  Then click on the lock to lock the section.

 

14) A pop up will appear and choose the option Quit Now

 

 

15) Open Sophos Endpoint and check for updates.

 

16)  The system should now appear in the Sophos Console system

If the installation of Sophos fails please follow the instructions below

Sophos - How to install Sophos on a Mac 

 

 

1) Go the website central.sophos.com 

 

2) Login into the website with your Sophos credentials 

 

3) Once logged into Sophos Central website go to the My Products – Endpoint Protection – Configure section – Protected Devices -  

 

4) Select the option to download the Complete macOS Installer and run the file 

 

5)  Enter Admin Credentials to install Sophos on the Mac and press the Install Helper button 

 

6)  It will take several minutes to install Sophos on the Mac 

 

7)  Once Sophos is installed go to the Sophos icon in the Apple Menu and click on the Sophos icon then click on the button Open Sophos Endpoint... 

 

8)  Then click on the word About (Bottom right corner of the Sophos Endpoint box) 

 

9) Click on the button Run Diagnostic Tool above the word Troubleshooting

17) Also, go to System Preferences – Security & Privacy – General Tab 

 

A)    Click on the lock symbol and enter admin credentials to unlock System Preferences 

B)     In the General Tab go to Details... button and click on it 

C)    Check both boxes for Sophos Network Extension and SophosScanD then press the OK button 
 
 

 

D)    A pop text button should appear and press the Allow button for Sophos Network Extension pop up box
