Best Practices for a Webinar

Below are recommendations that should be taken when doing before and during a webinar

  • Find a comfortable and quiet place to avoid distractions when watching a webinar.

  •  Make sure that your microphone and speakers are working on your device a day before the webinar.  To test your speakers and microphone create a test call with the help desk or a friend.

  • Plug your power cable into your device before your webinar starts because your camera and microphone will drain the power from your battery rapidly.

  • Use a wired connection for your device so that it is less likely that you will lose connectivity. Wireless connectivity has a greater chance of dropping your call during the webinar.

  •  Make sure that you mute your microphone when you are not speaking to avoid unwanted noise.  (Ex: traffic, kids, animals, etc.)

  •  Make sure your webinar software is up to update. If assistance is needed call your help desk.

  •  Test the webinar link ahead of time to make sure that it works.

  • Use a set of headphones with a built-in microphone for a better audio experience.

  •  Log into your webinar ten minutes before the event starts to make sure that your device starts up properly.
