Outlook - Open Shared Folders (Previous successor's folders)

 

How to add shared folders from previous successor

 

Local Client (Windows Only)

 

1) Open Outlook >Right click on your email address in Outlook > Folder Permissions

 

2) Under General Tab go to the Advanced... Button

 

3) A new windows should open and go to the Advanced Tab > click on the Add button beside Open these additional mailboxes

 

4) Next type the user’s name in the Add Mailbox field then click OK button

 

5) Click the Apply button then close the windows

 

6) The user's name should now appear one left side under Outlook with access to the folders that the previous successor left

 

 

Outlook Web Version (Windows and macOS)

 

1) Go to office.com and login with your Microsoft365 credentials

 

2) Click on the Outlook icon > Go to the Folder section on the left side of the web version of Outlook

 

3) Right click on the Folders section and choose the option Add shared folder or mailbox

 

4) Type the name of previous successor who granted and it should auto populate the email address of your previous successor

 

5) Once selected then click on the Add button

 

6) Their name now should appear on the left side under folders and now you should be able to see all the folders with the emails inside of the folders that you were granted permission to
