Mac - How to add and use NoMAD feature (mac not bind)

NoMad app is used for macs that are not bind to Active Directory.


**The account must be a local account and the mac must not be bind to the domain

 

1) Go to https://nomad.menu/products/

2) Go to the NoMad section and click on the link Download NoMAd

 

3) Run the file then use admin credentials to install

 

4) Go the Applications on the mac in Finder then run NoMad

 

5) A window will appear and in the AD Domain field enter: sausc.org

 

6) Close the window and reopen NoMad app in the Applications section

 

7) A triangle should appear in the Apple Menu bar. Click on it and choose the option sign in

 

8) Enter your first name.last name then your Microsoft365 password.  This should sign you into account and be access to your share drives, printers, etc.  (You have to be on the name on the network or use a VPN in order for it to work)

 

9)  The sign must be done each time you log into your computer and are on the network at THQ or a DHQ

**How to convert a mobile account to a local account (Convert a mobile account into a local acc… - Apple Community)

(1) delete user from local machine (do not delete user home folder)
2) rename user home folder to original short name
3) create new user with original short name, you will see an option to use the existing home folder, all permissions will be updated automatically
