Using QR Codes for Inventory in USC

How to use QR Codes for USC Inventory objects.

1. Locate the item in the inventory system:

2. Use the Filter Icon (top right) to enter known information about the object

Ie:  Computer Name, Serial Number or who it is assigned to

3. Open the Object

4. Copy the URL

5. Go to Canva.com

6. Click on Canva Free

Or follow steps 7-9

7. Click on Design Spotlight (top Left)

8. Select QR Code generator

9. Click on  Generate a QR Code

10. Paste the URL into the URL Field

11. Click Generate QR Code

12. Copy or download the QR

13. Print the QR onto a label – and affix to the physical object

14. Use a SmartPhone camera to “take a picture” of the QR and the Inventory System will
Open/or prompt you for your credentials to open.
