1) Get the macbound_pwdchange.tar file from Teams > USCThq Helpdesk > Macs > shared > mac keychain and AD password change sync folder

How to update keychain and AD password on mobile account to sync 

 

  • This will update the login keychain and cached credentials 

 

  • 1) You have to use your mac to transfer the macbound_pwdchange.tar file to the desktop of the local admin of the mac of the user how who has a broken secure token 

  • Double to extract the tar and drag the executable called macbound_pwdchange to the desktop of the local admin 

  • 2) Login as a local administrator on the mac 

  • Double to extract the tar and drag the executable called macbound_pwdchange to the desktop of the local admin 

  • 3) Open the terminal 

  • A) Type the following commands 

  • cd desktop 

  • sudo ./macbound_pwdchange 

  • Enter the password of the local admin account 

  • B) The following prompts will appear in the Terminal (Enter your mac work username: 

  • Enter your mac username: first name.last name of the user 

  • Enter your current password:  

  • Enter your new password: 

  • 4) The script will attempt the change 

  • First, it will say updating locally cached credentials 

  • Second, it will say updating the login keychain 

  • If successful, it will have a message that says Password Successfully changed. Please log out and log back in 

  • 5) Reboot the mac and have the user login 

  • It should accept the new password 

 

 

 

 

Second Option:

 

 

 

If the login password to the mac is different than the user's Microsoft365 password

 

1) Have the user be connected to the THQ Trusted WiFi or divisional DHQ's Trusted WiFi in order for this to work

 

2) Go to Menu Bar > Go > Computer > Macintosh Hard Drive > User > [name of user's folder] > Library (hidden folder) > Keychains

 

3) In the user's Keychains folder  find the file login.keychain-db

4)  Right click on the file and move to Trash

 

5)  Reboot the mac and have the user log into the computer with their current Microsoft365 password

6)  It may prompt them to enter a new keychain password unless a ticket has been setup in the Ticket Viewer app already.
