How to add the THQ network printers to a Mac

 

  1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences or System Settings (OS Ventura) 

  1. Click [Printers & Scanners]. 

  1. Click [+] or Add Printer Scanner, or Fax... (OS Ventura). 

  1. The screen for adding a printer appears. 

  1. While pressing the [Control] key, click [Default] icon (or any icon on the toolbar), and then 
    click [Customize Toolbar]. 

  1. Right click the [Advanced] icon and choose the option to add to the toolbar. 

  1. Click [Done]. 

  1. Click the [Advanced] icon added on the toolbar. 

  1. In the [Type] field, select [Windows printer via spoolss]. 

  1. In the[URL] field, type smb://uscthqprt1/secure%20print. 

  1. In the [Name] field, enter a THQ Secure Print. 

  1. In [Use:], choose [Select Software] and select Ricoh MP C3503 PS (3500 PS) or Lanier MP C3503 PS.  If it is not on the list of available drivers, you need to install the Ricoh driver.  It can be found at, “smb://uscthqsvcs01/apps & drivers/applications/mac” 

  1. Click [Add]. 

  1. With the printer highlighted, select [Options & Supplies]. 

  1. Select the [Options] tab. 

  1. Change the settings as follows;  

  • Option Tray:Lower Paper Trays 

  • Large Capacity Tray:Not Installed 

  • Internal Tray 2:Installed 

  • Internal Shift Tray:Not Installed 

  • External Shift Tray:Not Installed 

  • Finisher:Finisher SR3140 

  1. Click [OK] or Done 

 

 

 

To authenticate printing for users who have had their profile moved over:

SAUSC.ORG\USERNAME

Their current SAUSC password

 

Keychain

Sometimes you may have to reinstall the network printer and delete the keychain password associated with the network printer. Access to the Keychain is through Finder> Applications> Utilities> Keychain Access. Or you can click Command + space bar and search for Keychain access.

 

Driver notes:

The driver/configuration is compatible with the C4503.

 

It is not compatible with C401SP and the older Ricoh/Lanier devices (C3002, C3502, C5502).  We might be able to create other versions of the printer depending on usage/location. Possibly even loading multiple Secure Print definitions on a single MAC.

 

Filter failed message

Reset Printing system. Remove old print drivers, reinstall print drivers, and printer. 

 

Remove print drivers

Macintosh HD> library> Printers> drag that folder to the trash.

Also- under Printers> PPDs> Contents> Resources - delete all files with printer name you wish to delete.

 

 

Printer Pausing -

Unlock account, uncheck user must change password.
