"CE" is a web-based accountability (Site blocking and/or site logging) software
The software (once purchased) is downloaded off their website.
A Profile is created that has the user designate "sponsors" or "accountability partners" on the account.
If a website that is rated as an "adult" site is viewed or attempted to be viewed the sponsors will be notified and the traffic will be logged.
The software cannot be disabled or uninstalled without CE technical support.
This is typically installed at CFOT and is authorized by the BA.
There is no licence number to add to the inventory DB - however we should be documenting who has it in the inventory DB.
Dale Dahl at CFOT has the most experience in installing (although not difficult - just putting him down as someone we can chat with if we need to)
IT CAN be disabled though if you need to test the computer with CE Off. This is preferred rather than uninstalling.

The CE Admin Interface
C:/Program Files/CE/ceconfig.exe (if for any reason it is not here - search for the .exe)
1. Run it
2. It will ask you for a Code (We have reason to believe this is a temp code that only lasts 1 day: 133-628-753 )
3. Select #2 to Disable CE
If the code doesnt work - call CE support to attain a new one.

DNS
A major issue with CE is that during the installation process - it inputs a Static DNS address (127.0.0.1)
And adds it to the IPv6 Section. ::1 (which means to look at the local computer itself - or to default to the local CE program)
This will prevent the computer from being able to access Share Drives and Network Printers - and may even block ALL internet traffic.
- 1. Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections
2. Right Click on the Wireless and or Ethernet connections
- 3. Click Properties
- 4. Click on IPv4 - make certain Obtain an IP automatically is set (no static IPs)
- 5. Click on IPv6 - make certain Obtain an IP automatically is set (no static IPs)

CE Support:

You will need the users user name, password, safety security password (Like mother's maiden name etc...) and address of the user.
Explain that you are IT for the user - it may help - although they may think you are the user attempting to circumvent the software.

Typical issues we experience when CE is installed:
1. May block ALL internet Traffic
2. No e-mail
3. No share drives
4. May prevent you from installing programs
5. Cannot print to Network Printers
6. Bomgar may not work correctly (unable to elevate rights - or click on users screen)

IP Addresses (Suggested by CE to be unblocked)
I have created a policy in the firewall. Here is the same information you provided that I had received from them a little while back as well:
In some cases the following Covenant Eyes files need to be allowed to run by the AV program:
- • CovenantEyesCommService.exe
These items will be located in C:>Program Files>CE
In some cases, Covenant Eyes will need these IP addresses to be whitelisted in order to work on a network:
69.41.14.75 (ports 80/443)
69.41.14.133 (port 53)
208.185.195.4 (ports 53/80)
208.185.195.46 (ports 80/443)
208.185.195.49 (ports 80/443)
208.185.195.86 (ports 80/8521, 8522)
Once these are allowed, Covenant Eyes will be able to connect over the network.

SOPHOS: (Suggestion - we have little evidence that this is necessary)
Create an exception in Sophos to ignore the C:/Program Files/CE Folder and all sub folders.

Possible issue:
In working with Derek Rose's PC (6.13.19) we found that a potentially major issue was that his AD profile was corrupt.
The CE software worked correctly as other users - even signed into the CE interface - but did not work correctly signed in as Derek.
Test this with another AD account. If this is the issue - rename the AD Profile - Remove the Reg Edit entry for Profiles and create a new AD Profile.
This may resolve the issue.
